Prayer
Rabbi
Abraham Joshua Heschel z"l teaches, "Prayer
is meaningless unless it is subversive, unless it seeks to
overthrow and to ruin the pyramids of callousness, hatred,
opportunism, falsehood. The liturgical movement must become
a revolutionary movement, seeking to overthrow the forces
that continue to destroy the promise, the hope, the vision.
To pray is to stake our very existence, our right to live,
on the truth...of that which we pray for. Prayer, then, is
radical commitment, a dangerous involvement in a life that
could be God's."
